Park City lies within the Wasatch Mountains range and is a 30 minute drive away from downtown Salt Lake City. Park City's official elevation is 7,000 feet/2,133.6 meters above sea level at Main Street. However, the elevation ranges from 6,500' - 10,000' feet. The city is 17.6 square miles and was founded as a silver-mining town 1869. It is now most famous as a world renowned area for skiing and snowboarding, and is home to the Sundance Film Festival held each January.
