| Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of the Division
of Organic Chemistry of the
American Chemical Society and the Department of Chemistry
of the University
of Utah, we welcome you to the 39th
National Organic Chemistry Symposium. This biannual
symposium will be held from Sunday, June 12 to Thursday, June

located at the foothills of the Wasatch Mountains in Salt
Lake City, Utah.
The
National Organic Chemistry Symposium (NOS) is the premier
event sponsored by the Division of Organic Chemistry of the
American Chemical Society to highlight the recent advances
in organic chemistry research. The 39th Symposium consists
of 13 invited lectures, plus the 2005 Roger Adams Award winner.
The lectures will be presented during morning and evening
sessions at the elegant Kingsbury Hall auditorium. As in the
long tradition of the past NOS Symposia, the 39th symposium
features a very distinguished and impressive list of speakers
The poster presentations will take place
in the evenings (Sunday to Wednesday) from about 9:00 PM –
midnight in the Scholarship Reception Room located on the
4th floor of Rice-Eccles Stadium with a breathtaking view

Salt
Lake City and the State of Utah offer a wealth of natural
and unnatural attractions. Conference Services at the University
of Utah has arranged extracurricular activities during and
after the symposium to visit and enjoy many of these.
Please take the time to thumb through this
web site. Because of the excellent location and the outstanding
program, we are confident that NOS 2005 will be a meeting
